Dalton graduated from Southeast High School in 2017 and then attended the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture, where he received a degree in Animal Science. After college, Dalton moved back to Torrington to start Keller Cattle, a cattle and hay operation that he built and runs with his father, Duane.
