I have lived in Port Orchard Washington since 1980 and began my real estate career in 1981. Have two adult children, one in Spokane, Washington and the other in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. How did I get into Real Estate? As a novice house hunter, I purchased a book that told me never to: (1)Buy the first house you look at, (2) Fall in love with it and (3) Pay full price. I broke the first two rules right away by falling in love with the first house I looked at. It was an older farm style hone on 2.5 acres. We instantly fell in love with the property, deer munching apples off of the apple trees, a barn, a pond all located in a rural area. Determined to at least follow one rule, I stuck to #3, making a very low bid. Someone who did not read the same book ended up with the winning offer. They still live there to this day.
