After 35 years in the restaurant industry, serving people dinner, I decided I wanted to serve them in a more meaningful way. My love of real estate started when I bought my first house as a single mother and spent all my extra time and money turning that house into a home I loved. Not long after that, I bought my first real estate investment house to flip. This was long before there were shows that glamorized this task. It took me 6 months of late nights and days off but I loved the "after" and the feeling of accomplishment that came with this endeavor.
