He married the love of his life Leah in 2010 and they moved the Charlotte. I am a life-long Marion resident. I attended Appalachian State University (ASU) & then graduated from Gardner Webb University with a business degree. My wife, the former Shannon Bowman, and I met after college. She graduated from ASU and is employed by the McDowell County Department of Social Services. We have one child, a son named Bud Jones, born 01/02/03. I am active in the local Marion Rotary Club and have served as Secretary, Board of Director At-Large, and Treasurer. I currently serve on the Board of Trustees of the McDowell Hospital (past Chair), Board of Directors of The Foundation of the McDowell County School System, and the Board of Directors of the McDowell Tech Foundation Board. I am a Past President of the McDowell Board of REALTORS®. I am also a former Deacon at First Presbyterian Church in Marion. I own rental houses, apartments, and commercial buildings in Marion plus my personal house on Main Street.
